Well done to all the mentors in Eochaill Óg who held their Football League Parish Finals on Friday 16th Sept in the top field at Magners Hill at Youghal GAA Club . It was great to see the teams being led out onto the field in a parade being led by Youghal Piper Adam McCarthy. Once the teams were lined up and stood for the National Anthem, MC Liam Ó Laochdha presented the teams to the large crowd gathered. We had over 75 players taking part.
The first game of the evening was for the O Foghlu Cup and was between Tyrone and Donegal with Tyrone running out winners in the end on a score of 3-4 to Donegals 1-1.
The second game of the evening was for the Dan Coleman Cup with Tipperary losing out to Kerry on a score of Tipperary 1gl to Kerrys 4 pts
The final game of the evening was the Padraig “Paw Paw” Coyne Cup between rivals Dublin and Cork and Cork came out winners in the end on a scoreline of Cork 1-1 to Dublins 0-0.
It was great to see Jim Daly refereeing the first 2 games and Hugh Dorrian refereeing the last game. With many of the U16 players acting as officials. After the presentation of the medals and cups the teams adjourned to the main hall for some refreshments while the adults adjourned to the Lounge for tea and sandwiches. Well done to all for a great night of football in Youghal
