|Month of June||National schools coaching||Mitchelstown NS, Ballygiblin Ns, Ballyhooley Ns, Ballygowan Ns, Kilavullen Ns, Rockchapel Ns, Tullylease Ns, Bweeing Ns, Buttevant Ns||Concluded a programme of coaching in these schools from junior to second class pupils for the term. Fundamental movements, learning new skills and A.B.C’s (FUN) Coaching will begin in schools in the region from September again.|
|8th June||NS 2nd class football blitz||Mallow||A great blitz was held in the North region this month for all National School 2nd class pupils to participate in. Over pupils participated and everyone enjoyed their day of football representing their schools.|
|Month of June||monster blitz’s u10 leagues||
Blitz’s continued this month with and going very well for the most part in the region, but some clubs are still yet to send a team to a blitz which is disappointing.
u6 football and hurling blitz’s also continued this month.
|Month of June||U14, 15, 16 Regional squads||
Cork u14, 15 and 16 football squads were launched Saturday June 10th in CIT. The u14’s played inter-regional challenge matches at this launch while the u15 and 16 squads had an open training session, followed by the presentation of playing gear to the players and mentors and squad photo’s. After this all players were bussed to Pairc Ui Rinn to watch the Senior inter county semi final between Cork and Tipperary.
-U14 footballers won their inter regional tournament this month, beating the mid-west in the semi final and west in the final, they will now progress to the jim power tournament in Dungarvan next month.
The u14 hurling regional squad are training away for their inter-regional tournaments.
– Cork u15 and 16 hurlers are still training for their inter-county tournaments this summer.
– Cork U15 and 16 footballers are preparing for their Munster tournaments July 8th.The 2 u15 squads played 4 games V Galway last week in Kilshannig winning all 4 games comfortably.
-The u16s have been playing challenge games throughout the summer against Cork and Kerry minor teams including Dr Crokes, St. Kevins and Friries in Kerry and Nemo, Ballincollig Eire Og and Beara in Cork.
|Month of June||U17 Celtic Challenge tournament||Congratulations to the North region u17 Celtic challenge squad who made it to the all Ireland final, but were beat by Antrim. Unfortunately we were short 5 hurlers who were in team up to this point for various reasons and this had a big effect on the day. This was a fantastic achievement for the lads and management.|
|2nd June||National Schools Skills test competition||Nemo Rangers||For the third year in a row Buttevant National school won the Cork National Schools skills competition county title and went on to represent the county in the Munster competition coming 3rd.|
|June||Club Visits||Mallow, Kanturk, Newmarket and Kilavullen||These 4 clubs, along with Charlaville, have been chosen through benchmarking for additional assistance from the GDA where I will be doing 8 visits in each club throughout the year.|
Club and region workshops took place in the following clubs during the month:
Glanworth, Mallow, Kanturk and Kilavullen.
|u5-u10 football and hurling regional workshops were run for all clubs in the region to attend.|
|June||Cul Camp workshops||Granard Gaels, Buttevant, Charleville, Kilara Og, Kildorrery, Kanturk, Banteer, Boherbue, Mitchelstown and Milford||Every club in the North region hosting a Cul camp this year will have workshop the week before with a Rebel Og coach to go through different ideas for games and activities for the coaches and helpers in the camp. Its also an opertunity to discuss the clubs progress this year.|
|September||Primary school teachers coaching course’s||Mallow||All schools in the region have been informed of an up coming workshop for National School teachers in September and November. The course will covered all activities such as fundamental movements, agility, balance, co-ordination, and challenging children to use their hands and feet simultaneously.
The workshop was already held earlier in the year for teachers in the Dhuallow area and it was a big success and many of the teachers said it would be of assistance to them, not just those dealing with PE but that it can be integrated with the SPHE programme to help children experiencing poor motor skills
|6th July||Martin Fogerty hurling workshop||Newtownshandrum||
Shandrum Juvenile club are hosting a free hurling workshop for coaches with Martin Fogerty (the national hurling development administrator) its a practical session with young players there and there will be a powerpoint and discussion with Martin and the coaches after.

|Month of July||U13 football and hurling pods||all across the north region||The u13 (2004 born players) football and hurling pods will be starting up this month across the region, begining Monday July 3rd and continuing through to September. All clubs have been informed of times, dates and venue to send their players and a text has gone out to the players who attended the camps earlier in the year.|
|Month of July||Cul camp workshops||
-Cul camp workshops will be arranged for those clubs hosting this month a week in advance of the camp taking place. These visits are open to both Cul camp AND club coaches. Clubs scheduled for this month are:

26th Mallow, Kiskeim, Knocknagree & Ballydesmond
|8th July||Cork development football squad tournaments||This is the big day for our u14, 15 and 16 football development squads playing in their Munster inter-county tournaments.
u14’s are playing in their tournament in Dungarvan
u15’s playing in Duhallow and the u16s in Limerick.
