A foundation coaching course for all Muskerry clubs will be held in Ballinora GAA club on Friday 13th and Sat 14th March. Places are filling fast so please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to take part. I am currently working with a number of clubs to develop club coaching plans – for the 6-12 age group in particular – and look forward to working with more clubs in the coming weeks & months in this area. Developing nursery plans for the 4-6 age group is also something I am keen to get underway and I hope to do this through strengthening the link between clubs & local primary schools. A number of transition year coaching courses will also be held in the Muskerry region within the next few months & this will hopefully result in an increase in the number of teenagers coaching in their local clubs. If your club or school have any queries about coaching, club development, etc. please contact me at email@example.com

Over 100 coaches attended the Paudie Butler hurling workshop in Ballinacarriga community sports complex. For over 2 hours Paudie gave a comprehensive presentation on how to coach hurling to young players. A big part of his workshop was how you coach the player and not just the sport. A big thanks to Randal Og GAA club who provided refreshments after and to the Randal Og under age players Paudie coached during the workshop. Last Thur in Castletownbere NS a large crowd of under age coaches attended a football workshop held by James McCarthy. On Mon St Oliver Plunketts held their first night of their foundation course with a large crowd in attendance. O’Donovan Rossa GAA club held a foundation course for the local clubs and Clonakilty started their Award 1 Coaching Course. If your club or school have any queries about coaching, club development, etc. please do not hesitate to contact me at james.mccarthy.gda.

Duhallow U13 Football Development are into their 3rd session this week with another planned for Ballydesmond 1st March. This is been run separate from the North Squads in the Duhallow Division, it came about from a meeting I called with all Duhallow Clubs about the lack of football development in the region. Its going very well, lots of players & coaches involved.
Club Visits: Nursery plans are currently been put in place in 14 clubs in the North Region both Avondhu & Duhallow. I would be delighted to hear from any club who would like a club visit.
This year i will be targeting each club to build a better and more inclusive Nursery program. The Nursery program is targeted at children from 4-7, who are not yet in the Monster Blitz program but who are involved in their local club.
