On Wednesday 8th of Aug and Thursday 9th Aug Pairc Ui Chaoimh was a hive of activity with U12 teams coming from Waterford, Kerry, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary and of course Cork to take part in the Munster Activity Stadium days. This is an initiative run by Munster GAA inviting clubs to take part in blitzes in the stadiums around Munster. Clubs could avail of a chance to play hurling or football in Semple Stadium Thurles, Pairc Ui Chaoimh Cork, Fitzgerald Park Killarney, The GAA Grounds Limerick.
Well done to all the clubs and teams who took part in Cork. Each club got 1 hour playing time on the field playing 3 short matches of 20mins apiece before a stadium tour with Cork Senior Footballer Sean Powter who brought the lads through the dressing rooms, the first aid rooms, the players gym, the warm up areas and finishing in the press room where the young players could ask questions just like a normal press conference after a big game. All in all it was a great day out for the young players.
As part of the Benchmarking reward scheme we had quite a large number of teams from Cork take part in this fun day out. We had the following teams take part over the two days. Macroom, Clashmore, Kinsalebeg, Bruree, Bandon,Clyda Rovers, Mayfield, Borrisokane, St Senans Limerick, Listowel Emmets, Mallow, St Finbarrs, Bishopstown, St Senans Kilkee, Castleloyns, Athea, Argideen Rangers, Kilara Og, Clonmel Commercialls, St Kierans Limerick, Brian Dillons, Whites Cross, Adrigole, Donoughamore, St Colmans, Rathmore, Buttevant, Douglas, Fermoy, Churchill, Valley Rovers, , The Nire, Miltown Castlemaine, Ardfinnan, Kinsale, Kilavullen, Beal Atha Ghaorthaidh, Lee Gaels, St Olivers Waterford, Kilshannig, Shanballymore, Ballylanders, Aghinagh, Newcestown.
