Midleton GAA Hold 3rd Class Blitz

On Wednesday 21st June 2017 at 11am pupils from Midleton’s Christian Brothers Primary School and Gaelscoil Mhainistir na Corann gathered at the pitch in Midleton GAA club to take part in an inter schools blitz organised by Midleton GAA under the watchful eyes of Martin McSweeney and Cormac Quirke from Midleton GAA Club.

With assistance from teachers and pupils from both schools who helped organise the blitz and referee games on the day it was non stop action for the 3rd class pupils with both hurling and football going on at the same time on the four pitches laid out in the main field.

It was great to see the young players playing hurling and football and there was plenty of skill in both codes with scores coming in fast and furious on all four pitches in games that “to an outsider looked like great fun but to the players each game was an All Ireland Final”. A big well done to all involved in both schools and to all in Midleton GAA for facilitating the blitz on the day with the fields all laid out, grass cut and goals ready for all players.
