Go Games League Update & Summer Hurling League

Please take a few minutes to read the following update. I have had a large number of correspondences the last few weeks, I will eventually get to them but hopefully, some of the answers will be here.

1.) Postponed Games

It has come to my attention lately that some clubs are refusing to play matches for various reasons and are pushing them back to July. I need all results done by 8th July so i can adequately plan the latter half of the playing season. FYI, there are 4 more match days in both codes from Mid August til Mid October. Please try to play the fixture as set on the date set, or else play it the week before. Worst case scenario, play the fixture the week after the set date. Clubs already pushing fixtures out to July at this stage, are making it very difficult for themselves to finalise the program as agreed.

2.)Summer Ground Hurling tournament

We will be holding a Summer Ground Hurling tournament in July/Aug for 4 Wednesday nights. I have attached a document explaining the competition, so please see that as it answers a lot of the questions you may have.

3.) League Opt out,

Change number of teams, Go to weaker/stronger groups etc.

If you have any need to change the number of teams you have entered in the league for the next 4 matches in each code, or want to add a team, or opt in or out of the league or are worried about the standard your club is at, please fill in the information in the form below.

4.) Missing Results:

There are a large number of results still missing. The mentor of the home team is tasked to cmplete the form on the www.rebelogcoaching.com website immediately after the match. It only takes 1 minute to complete. It is impossible for me to give an accurate seeding without these results. I will send out the missing fixtures next week, so if you need to catch up, please do so asap.

5.) Young Whistlers:

CLUBS ARE REMINDED THAT THEY ARE OBLIGED TO PROVIDE A YOUNG REFEREE FOR ALL HOME GAMES. WE HAVE HAD A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS IN THE RECENT WEEKS ABOUT MENTORS/PARENTS REFEREEING THE GAMES. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND THOSE CLUBS HAVE BEEN WARNED WITH EXPULSION. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A YOUNG REFEREE OFFER THE OPPOSITION TO BRING ONE, AND THE HOME CLUB PAYS HIM/HER.

Finally, thanks to all for the feedback and participation so far. Also, be conscious of the opposition teams when playing, if you are winning well, please weaken your team as much as possible to level the playing field for all players. When you get to older age groups, results might matter more but please assist opponents in giving meaningful fair matches at these ages.

Summer Iomaint

WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUMMER HURLING PROGRAM

Over the months of July and August, we have designated 4 weeks of additional Hurling fixtures, which will complement the Fixtures set out with Rebel óg. As clubs will have players away on holidays during the summer, this will assist clubs gaining more games for those that are still available to play.

Fixtures:
Round 1: Wednesday 12th July
Round 2: Wednesday 19th July

• Clubs will be based regionally for the first 2 weeks as best as possible to limit travel distance.
• Host club to supply young referees for the night.
• 4 teams will be in each venue on a match night.
• Teams will play each other team once.
• If a club has more than one team at an age group, they will have to enter as a different unit e.g. Barrs Blue, Barrs Yellow. Clubs need approx. 30 players available to enter separate teams
