Cork U16 Inter Regional Football Finals

On Sunday 26th March the Cork U16 regional football squads headed to Carrigaline & Tracton for the Finals of our Inter Regional Squad games. Our first game at 2.30pm saw Cork North vs Cork Mid West with both teams under the watchful eye of referee Alan O Connor. This was a close game with both sides taking good scores to keep it interesting, however when the final whistle blew Cork North came out as victors. This was followed by our second game Cork West v Cork East/City this time under the watchful eye of referee Ian Thomas and again like the first game was a close affair with Cork East winning by a single point.

When these games ended we had our draw for the Plate Final and Shield Final with Cork East facing Cork North in the Shield and Cork West V Cork Mid West in the Plate final. With weather conditions great and all teams ready to go the Cork East/City team came out on top of the Shield Final while Cork Mid West overcame Cork West in the Plate final.

Well done to all on the day, to the Carrigaline and Tracton clubs for the fantastic facilities and first aid on the day, there are a lot of good players putting in a lot of work to reach this stage with their respective regional squads, so to them we say thank you and a big thank you to all the Coaches, Mentors, Parents, GDA’s & Club Coaches who have been working closely with the lads, well done to all for a great effort thus far.
